Very tactical game at first. Both Sporting and Porto opted for reinforcement of the midfield (plus the "dragon", since the "lion" used a customary costume). Portistas with slight ascending in the first ten minutes (54% possession), and with the only shot, by Miguel Layún, framed. Sporting strong in the individual duels, as he won five out of seven in this stage.

Sporting arrived in the 20 minutes without any shot, while the "blues and whites" were three, two of them framed. However, those three shots were from outside the area, which pays in favor of the sporting defensive organization.
In the half hour, Sporting had already managed to reverse the dominance trend a little, with 54% possession, but no shots or seeing them. At this stage, Rui Patrício was the best on the field, with a GoalPoint Rating of 6.1, thanks to three defenses and a solo exit.

More Sporting after the restart. The "lions" took the reins of the game, with 54% possession in the 75th minute, three shots (unseeded), against none of the "dragon". Sérgio Conceição's team more shrunken after the break and with difficulty in the duels, having won only 40% since the beginning of the second half.
Sporting finished with more possession, a total of 57%, thanks mainly to a second part where it reached 60%. Porto, however, may bemoan not having scored any goal when they had the best chances and shot more (and better) than their opponents.
