Sanchez, Ozil behaviour has left Arsenal squad ‘furious’

Arsenal players have been left ‘furious’ and ‘irritated’ by the behaviour of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

Both players have dominated the headlines with regards to the Gunners over the past 12 months, with just a year remaining on their respective contracts at the club.

Neither are expected to stay beyond their current deals, and their recent behaviour has infuriated their fellow teammates.

According to the London Evening Standard, both players ‘failed to attend a club media activity day last month’.

The club offered an official explanation of illness, but the pair had featured in the Carabao Cup victory over Doncaster the evening before the day in question.

Players were required to attend the club’s London Colney training ground on September 21 ‘for a series of engagements to satisfy corporate and sponsorship agreements’, but Sanchez and Ozil were absent. Even Mathieu Debuchy turned up.

‘It is not the first time some of their team-mates have become irritated by the pair’s seeming unwillingness to conduct their share of media duties,’ according to the Standard’s report. They cite Sanchez and Ozil’s ‘reluctance to speak publicly’ during the club’s struggle for form at the turn of the year.
