PETER SCHMEICHEL READY TO START COACHING CAREER

Former goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, 54, has decided to opt for a coaching career and is ready, starting in January, to review the clubs that are interested and embrace the first project.

European champion for Denmark in 1992, his career was strongly linked to the move to Man. United, where he moved in 1991, from Brondby. He would spend eight seasons in the service of the red devils, collecting numerous titles, among them a Champions League, in 1998/99.

It was precisely at the end of that season that, at the age of 35 (on his way to 36), he went to Sporting, where, in two seasons, he won a championship (1999/2000) and a Supertaca (2000). Then there would still be another season at Aston Villa and a final at Man. City, hanging gloves in 2003.

The father of Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester) has since been divided between some football-related businesses and the role of commentator and presenter in England and Denmark. Now, a new step.
