FIFA ETHICS COMMITTEE OPENS INQUIRY INTO PSG CHAIRMAN NASSER AL-KHELAIFI

The FIFA Ethics Committee has opened a preliminary inquiry into Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the chairman of BeIN Media and PSG, which has been sued for alleged corruption, a source in the governing body said.

The Swiss federal prosecutor's office had announced on Thursday the opening of criminal cases against Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, for alleged bribes in television rights in the football world cups of 2026 and 2030.

The Swiss attorney general's office said the investigation concerns bribes offered to the former Secretary-General of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Jerôme Valcke, to hand over the rights to the BeIN group owned by Al-Khelaifi.

In the lawsuit are targeted "Jérôme Valcke, the executive director of the BeIn Media Group Nasser Al-Khelaifi and a businessman linked to the sports rights sector," Swiss federal prosecutors said.
